It took the bravery of the granddaughter Mirabel to finally stand up to Abuela and bring real peace to the house of Madrigal. Without Mirabel, all of them would have kept on burying their heads in the sand and not talking about Bruno (here Bruno refers both to the outcast son of Abuela and is a metaphor for the trauma experienced by everyone, that was always simmering just underneath the surface).

Great read! What she did to Bruno was truly abusive. She shamed him so much he lived in the walls. Im still not over it.
