I had a whole section I cut about this. Yes it dissipates far faster than CO2, which is the much bigger problem, so the parallel is not perfect by any means. The damage that methane will do to our atmosphere in the meantime (as well as the Carbon that will leak from such projects) is the real issue, but I felt explaining that in depth would take another couple of pages and so I went with as is
