Thank you! I appreciate your thoughts. I actually agree, but not this iteration of conservatism. I think there are some things like natural resources, marginalized groups, and sub cultures that deserve to have political factions defending them, even if doing so prevents resources from being given to the rest of society in the long term. I always think of the Mars trilogy (Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars) were a big divide is between the socialist and progressive greens and the conservationist reds that want to stop Mars from being developed.
