Thank you for your thoughts. I would argue that Nixon was constrained by the electorate of his time. I think his WH tapes reveal a very conservative man who just knew where the wind was blowing. Nixon today I think would be in step with a lot of Republicans.

But to your other point about both parties being corporatist and wanting to stop economic challenges to capitalism: yes, I agree.
